Wistron Just Opened a $700 Million Factory in the US Dedicated Entirely to Building Nvidia Superchips. The Facility Is Part of a Quiet but Accelerating Push to Move AI Hardware Manufacturing Onto American Soil

Wistron’s Nvidia Superchips are moving into U.S. production after Wistron opened a $700 million manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The factory marks the company’s first manufacturing site in the United States and supports Nvidia’s expanding AI hardware ecosystem.

Inside Texas’ New AI Manufacturing Hub

Wistron officially opened the 324,000-square-foot facility to manufacture Nvidia’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchips. Later, the company will also produce Nvidia’s Vera Rubin Superchips at the same location.

In addition, the site will assemble and test AI infrastructure for data centers. Meanwhile, Wistron plans to use Nvidia Omniverse digital twin technology to optimize operations and improve manufacturing efficiency.

Company leaders described the investment as a long-term commitment to advanced manufacturing in the United States. Furthermore, the Texas operation strengthens Wistron’s partnership with Nvidia while expanding domestic AI production capacity.

The Forces Driving Domestic AI Production

Several factors have driven the investment. First, organizations need more AI infrastructure to support expanding artificial intelligence workloads. Consequently, Nvidia and manufacturing partners require greater production capacity.

At the same time, companies want stronger supply chains after recent global disruptions exposed manufacturing vulnerabilities. Producing AI hardware closer to customers can improve delivery times while reducing logistical challenges.

Moreover, domestic manufacturing gives technology companies greater flexibility as AI deployment accelerates across industries. In turn, the Texas operation supports Nvidia’s broader strategy to expand American manufacturing through trusted partners and strengthen long-term production capabilities.

A Bigger Shift in American AI Manufacturing

The investment represents more than another manufacturing expansion. Instead, it signals a broader shift in where advanced AI hardware is produced. Until now, most of the world’s sophisticated computing equipment came from manufacturing hubs across Asia.

However, growing AI demand has encouraged companies to diversify production and reduce dependence on a single region. Therefore, expanding domestic manufacturing can improve supply chain resilience while supporting future infrastructure growth.

Additionally, the project should create skilled manufacturing jobs and encourage further investment throughout the American AI ecosystem. As a result, the United States could strengthen its position as a key location for advanced AI hardware manufacturing.

The Next Phase of Wistron’s Expansion

Wistron’s Nvidia Superchips will remain central to the company’s long-term manufacturing strategy. Future production will include Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform, expanding the facility’s capabilities even further.

Meanwhile, Nvidia will continue working with manufacturing partners to increase American production capacity. Hence, additional investments could follow as AI demand continues rising.

Over time, similar projects could reshape where advanced AI infrastructure is built. Although overseas manufacturing will remain important, the Fort Worth operation demonstrates that AI hardware manufacturing is steadily establishing a larger footprint across the United States.
