Ranking third amongst the world’s largest companies by market cap, Apple Inc. is once again reminding the world of its supremacy in the world of tech.

Apple’s just-concluded event held on September 9, at Cupertino captured the world’s attention with mind-blowing innovations and upgrades. Let’s take a deep dive into the upgrades and releases set to redefine our interaction with Apple gadgets.

The iPhone 17 Line: Slimmer, Smarter, and More Powerful Than Ever

Let’s start with the star of the event, the highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup. Apple has shaken things up by introducing four new models:

    • The standard iPhone 17
    • The ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air
    • iPhone 17 Pro
    • iPhone 17 Pro Max

For camera lovers, the iPhone 17 boasts of 48MP Fusion Main and Ultra Wide cameras, enabling

4K60 Dolby Vision video with Spatial Audio. The new 18MP Center Stage front camera expands the field of view for effortless group selfies and landscape shoots without rotating your phone.

It runs on the A19 chip, which delivers 1.5x faster CPU performance than the A15 Bionic, with a battery life stretching 30 hours of video. The iPhone 17 is available in the colors black, lavender, sage, mist blue, and white. Phone storage kicks off at 256GB.

Replacing the iPhone Plus models is the iPhone Air. The iPhone 17 Air measures a thinness of 5.5 mm with a polished titanium finish and mirrored aesthetic.

It boasts of a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with 120Hz ProMotion and runs on the A19 Pro chip and a C1X cellular modem supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

Available in four stunning colors, it features a single high-density silicon-carbon battery that runs up to 27 hours of video playback. Priced starting at $999 (over ₦1.5M), it is perfect for those craving premium slimness without compromising on battery power and endurance.

With a selling price starting at $1,099 for the 17 Pro and $1,199 for the 17 Pro Max model, both models run on an A19 Pro chip, the most powerful and efficient chip for iPhone yet. It also features a 16-core Neural Engine for seamless AI tasks.

The brushed aluminum unibody of both models includes a vapor chamber for 40% better sustained performance during intensive gaming or editing. The triple 48MP camera offers an 8x optical zoom (the longest ever on an iPhone) and supports ProRes Raw and Apple Log 2 for professional videography.

The display measures 6.3 inches (17 Pro) and 6.9 inches (17 Pro Max), with Ceramic Shield 2 providing 3x better scratch resistance. Battery life hits new highs, up to 39 hours on eSIM-only models.

The Pro and Pro Max models are available in three colors: deep blue, silver, and cosmic orange. All iPhone 17 models run on iOS 26, launching September 15, with Apple Intelligence features like Live Translation and visual smarts.

AirPods Pro 3: Audio Revolution with Heart Rate Tracking and Live Translation

Moving on to Apple audio devices, meet the AirPods Pro 3, made for music lovers and fitness fanatics alike. Priced at $249 (₦375,400), these buds feature a revamped design with shorter stems and five ear tip sizes for a snug, stable fit based on extensive ear scan research.

The AirPods Pro 3 also boast of an IP57, which makes them sweatproof for extensive workouts.

Sound quality for these AirPods is on another level. With a massive boost with a multiport acoustic architecture, delivering deeper bass, a wider soundstage, and crystal-clear vocals, it’s the wet dream for music lovers.

Its noise cancellation capabilities are twice as effective as the Pro 2, blocking up to 4x more noise than the originals. The battery life of the AirPods Pro 3 is eight hours of ANC-enabled playback and 19 hours in Transparency mode.

However, that’s not all. What truly makes these AirPods special and set apart is the built-in heart rate sensing using PPG technology, which tracks your pulse during 50 workout types. The information is also seamlessly integrated with the Fitness app and Apple Fitness+ for real-time metrics.

It also boasts of a Live Translation feature powered by Apple Intelligence. This feature handles in-person chats in languages like English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Apple Watch Upgrades: Health-Focused and Adventure-Ready

During the event, Apple rolled out three new models of the Apple Watch: the affordable Watch SE ($249), Series 11 ($399), and Ultra 3 ($799).

The SE uses the S10 chip for advanced features like sleep tracking and satellite messaging. The Series 11 and Ultra 3 shine with hypertension notifications, using optical sensors to monitor symptoms for over 30 days.

Display features for the three models include a wide-angle OLED for better visibility, with a battery life of 24 hours for Series 11 and up to 72 hours in low-power mode for Ultra 3. The watch also operates on the new iOS 26 software.

iOS 26: The Much Awaited Update

In June 2025, during the WWDC, Apple teased the renaming and release of its new iOS model. Apple ditched the sequential numbering for a year-based system. The new iOS system is not restricted to newly released Apple products; it extends to iPhone 11 and later.

The star of the show for the iOS 26 release is the “liquid glass” technology. Think transparent, fluid animations and glassy icons that make your display pop; that is the beauty of iOS 26. Apps, widgets, and photo apps now have a glass-like sheen, featuring a sleek and unified look.

Apple Intelligence shines with on-device AI, featuring live translation for real-time multilingual chats, perfect with AirPods Pro 3 or iPhone 17. Seamlessly syncing with watchOS 26 and the new Apple Watch, iOS 26 enhances privacy and accessibility.

The iOS 26 update reveals Apple’s intent for its consumers to enjoy a more expressive and delightful experience when using Apple devices. This is a signature move for a company that prioritizes user convenience and satisfaction, like Apple Inc.
