Now accessible to both Pro and Ultra AI Subscribers, Google wants to use Veo3 to normalize cinematic video generation by powering it with artificial intelligence (AI).
Veo3 is the AI model from Google DeepMind that is designed for generating high-quality, cinematic videos directly from text or image prompts. It is also a model that is standardizing improved video quality and the ability to generate synchronized audio that matches the visual content’s mood and action.
Some of the technology’s standout capabilities are text-to-video generation, advanced prompt understanding, realistic lip-syncing, physics-based motion, and image-to-video animation,
The image-to-video generation feature was recently introduced in the second quarter of 2025. This allows users to upload static images and, through descriptive prompts, generate videos that animate the visuals and add contextually-synchronized audio; sound effects, ambient sound, and/or character dialogue.
The two-tiered subscription model that Google offers seeks to balance accessibility with exclusivity. The Ultra plan, at $249.99/months, rivals advanced offerings like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro. However, the accessible and relatively cheap $19.99/month Pro plan places Veo 3 within reach of independent creators, educators, and small businesses, which means the company is now competing directly with similarly priced industry tools.
In addition to the two-tiered subscription model, Google embedded the aforementioned Veo 3 capabilities within Google Workspace; Google Vids, Gemini app, and the Flow platform.
Due to the rise in using AI to generate deepfakes and the likes, Google also introduced content authenticity and safety by placing two watermarks on any Veo 3-generated video or content. These watermarks include a visible “Veo” logo at the bottom left corner of the video, and an embedded SynthID digital watermark.
These measures are part of Google’s comprehensive content moderation approach that is aimed at reducing the misuse and promoting transparency in AI-generated media.
As more creators turn to AI to enhance their storytelling and production capabilities, tools like Veo 3 are set to reshape the landscape of digital content creation. Only time will tell if these Google’s measures would be impactful in preventing the misuse of AI or not.
