As anticipation builds for Google’s upcoming Made by Google event, the tech giant has officially teased the much-anticipated Pixel 10 Pro Fold, ahead of its scheduled launch on August 20, 2025. The official teaser and all other leaks have provided an exciting glimpse of the design and key features of Google’s next flagship smartphone.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold teasing video, recently released on Google’s official YouTube channel, gives us a first look at the device’s sleek and modern design. This design continues Google’s trend from the Pixel 9 series and keeps its iconic look fresh with subtle refinements.

The video also confirms that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be available in an elegant new color, reportedly called “Moonstone,” a muted grey-blue that complements the phone’s aesthetic.

The Pixel 10 series in which the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is a part of has a robust lineup: the base Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the highly innovative Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

According to several leaks and reports, the Fold model is particularly noteworthy due to a groundbreaking feature that could make it the first foldable smartphone to receive an IP68 rating, which is the gold standard for dust and water resistance in mobile devices. This feat would put Google at the forefront of ensuring durability in foldable technology, as even leading foldables like Samsung’s Galaxy Z fold 7 carry only an IP48 rating.

All of the models of the Pixel 10 series will be powered by Google’s new Tensor G5 chip, a major leap forward for the company’s custom silicon efforts. Manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process and featuring an octa-core CPU with a powerful Cortex-X4 core, the Tensor G5 is Google’s first fully custom-designed chip. It promises significant improvements in speed, power efficiency, and AI capabilities, and early benchmarks suggest the chip offers up to 36% faster performance than its predecessor, the Tensor G4.

Now, a key strength in the Pixel 10 series, especially in the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, is the improvements in photography. The device will feature a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultrawide shooter, and a 48MP telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom. The front-facing camera is expected to deliver crisp selfies with a 42MP sensor. As such, this camera system can support 8k video recording, which is an appeal to content creators and photographers.

These hardware improvements are paired with Google’s AI-driven software enhancements, where features like real-time photo guidance, voice-driven photo editing, and sketch-to-image AI creativity tools, are introduced.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold and its siblings will also support PixelSnap, Google’s new magnetic accessory ecosystem similar to Apple’s MagSafe. The feature includes built-in magnets for accessory attachment as well as for magnetic wireless charging at 30W. This was designed to enhance convenience and functionality by making it easier for users to customize and charge their smartphones wirelessly.

Pricing and availability for the Pixel 10 series suggest that Google plans to keep these smartphones competitively priced. The price of Pixel 10 is expected to start around $700, the Pixel 10 pro at $999, the Pixel Pro XL at $1,199, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold expected to debut around $1,799.

The August 20 Made by Google event promises to change what consumers can expect from foldable devices, ultimately ushering in a new era of competition with other foldable smartphones makers.
